Founder and Principle Consultant

Nicole founded People & Business Solutions with a vision of providing organizations throughout Newfoundland and Labrador with practical, responsive and relationship-driven human resources support. Recognizing that businesses need more than occasional HR advice, she has built a team of experienced professionals who provide strategic guidance and hands-on support across the full spectrum of human resources.

Today, Nicole leads a growing team that partners with organizations , offering HR services tailored to each client's unique needs. From strategic planning and workplace investigations to recruitment, labour relations, leadership development, and outsourced HR support, her team works as a trusted extension of the organizations they serve.

With more than 20 years of experience in leadership,vhuman resources and employment relations, Nicole has worked across healthcare, energy, construction, municipal government, community services, and the not-for-profit sector. She is known for delivering practical solutions that strengthen leadership, improve workplace culture, and help organizations navigate complex people challenges with confidence.

Nicole holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Employment Relations from Memorial University of Newfoundland. She remains committed to growing People & Business Solutions by building a team of exceptional HR professionals who share her values of integrity, collaboration, and client service.

Outside of work, Nicole enjoys spending time with her family and their dogs and trying to keep up on the soccer field. She is committed to giving back to her community through volunteer leadership and by sharing her human resources expertise with organizations making a difference across Newfoundland and Labrador.

    HR Coordinator

    A strategic and results-driven Human Resources and Labour Relations professional, Marissa brings extensive experience supporting both unionized and non-unionized organizations through complex workplace challenges and organizational growth. With expertise spanning employee relations, labour relations, workplace investigations, policy development, conflict resolution, and collective agreement interpretation, she provides practical, people-focused solutions that align with business objectives while fostering positive workplace cultures.

    Known for her collaborative approach and sound judgment, Marissa partners with leaders to navigate sensitive employee matters, strengthen workplace relationships, and implement strategies that enhance engagement, performance, and retention. Her ability to balance operational needs with compliance and employee well-being has made her a trusted advisor across a variety of industries.

    In addition to her professional work, Marissa is committed to giving back to her community as a member of the Board of Directors for Iris Kirby House, where she contributes to governance and organizational leadership in support of women and children seeking shelter from intimate partner violence.

    HR Coordinator

    Laura is passionate about helping people and organizations thrive. Her career in Human Resources, recruitment, client relations, administration, and counselling has been rooted in supporting people through growth, change, and new opportunities. Whether assisting with employee onboarding, supporting workplace initiatives, or helping individuals navigate transitions, she focuses on creating positive experiences and meaningful connections.

    Laura holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Diploma in Transpersonal Counselling. Her experience spans recruitment, talent acquisition, employee onboarding, client success, and business operations. This has given her a strong understanding of both the employee and employer experience and reinforces her belief that people are at the heart of every successful organization.

    Laura is known for her thoughtful, approachable, and relationship-focused style. She brings a collaborative and grounded approach to her work, drawing on her counselling background to support clear communication, empathy, and practical problem-solving. She enjoys working at the intersection of people and organizational needs, with a focus on creating supportive environments where both employees and organizations can thrive.

    In her personal time, Laura enjoys spending time outdoors, staying active, and exploring with her dogs. These experiences keep her grounded and reinforce her belief in balance, well-being, and meaningful connection.
